Halloween may be the gay Christmas, but it’s not the only gay holiday of the month. Tis’ the season to lock up your dick – it’s #Locktober. For the uninitiated, this annual autumnal ritual involves people staying locked in chastity cages for the entirety of the month of October. While Locktober may only come once a year, it’s a lifestyle for many, including chastity connoisseur and adult performer CagedJock. Given his expertise, Sniffies asked him how the everyman could take the tenets of cage play and incorporate them into their sex life any time of year.
I would love to know what your view on Locktober is.
It is basically for all subs to make a commitment to wearing a cage for a full month. In this month, they really push their boundaries. Usually, people wear it for a week or a few days, but for Locktober, they make a commitment to push their limitations. And during that month, you’re not allowed to be unlocked, and you kinda work your head around your body — physically, mentally — around it to see what it does to you sexually, physically, and emotionally. It actually makes you really horny.
Can we talk about where Locktober came from? When did you first learn about it, and when did you start doing it? Why is it so much bigger this year than it has been in the past?
I think somebody, maybe a fan, told me about Locktober. I can't tell you the first time that I heard about it. I just know this year, for some reason, it got pretty big. I think it's only going to get bigger and bigger.
I agree. Do you have any thoughts as to why this year, specifically it got so big?
There's more awareness now. The chastity community has been growing very rapidly in the last few years.
When did you start getting into dick cages and chastity belts? Or have you always been into that?
I had seen a lot and done a lot. But chastity was one of the last frontiers that I didn't discover until one day, I was on Tumblr, and then I ran across an image of this guy. He doesn’t have a face, just his body. And what was fascinating about it is that he had a really, really masculine body, but he was wearing a chastity cage, and at the time, I didn't know what it was.
I was just so intrigued by the contrast of that look and, you know, the internet, especially Tumblr in the good ole days. It’s sort of like a rabbit hole. Once you research things, you just kind of fall deeper and deeper into an abyss of information. You know: This is one of those things I've never experienced, so let me try it and see what it does. It’s erotic.
I feel like now that rabbit hole is essentially Twitter! [laughs] What was the first experience like when you put it on?
I did my research on getting the sizes right. It was expensive! So I got this: the first cage was a metal cage, and it didn’t fit me well. The second cage fits me a lot better. It was the Holy Trainer. And the moment I put it on, this sense of fear rushed through my body. But you know, when it comes to sex, you need fear to arouse yourself.
Yeah, that’s a real kink.
Everything involves fear to arouse you. But this was a different feeling. When you put it on, you get this rush in your head like, Oh fuck, now I can’t get it out. I can’t stroke, and I can’t cum; I don’t know what to do. But it was fascinating arousal because I started leaking right away.
Would you say that’s the same case for most people in the chastity community?
I can't speak for others, but I feel that that’s a factor that arouses a lot of people. Because when you think about it, guys tend to think with their dick. So it’s the part where like, they have fun, they entertain, that’s where all the fun comes from. And that's part of your identity. When you are born, people immediately look at your dick to determine your sex, boy or girl. So the function of dick is like, aside from using it to piss, you get hard, you fuck, you do all these things for fun, and everything is suddenly gone. The only thing you can do with all this functionality is being confined in a cage. And now you start to question yourself and your identity; you don’t have a functional dick anymore. When your dick is confined in a cage, all your sensitivity is diverted to your hole. So now that becomes your primary sex organ.
You suppress one part, and your body automatically transfers all the senses, diverting to your hole. And now you’re just a bottom. And you have to depend on someone else for sexual gratification. It does a lot to your mind. I've done a lot of kinks. I’ve done whipping, belting, and fisting. But I feel like this is the only kink that fucks with your head. It changes you mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially.
Do you usually do it for someone else, or do you specifically like to do it for yourself and your art?
It depends. I started with myself because I needed to get comfortable with being self-locked first. It's like when you start a relationship, and you must be happy with yourself first. So this is the same.
Do you have any tips for people trying chastity for the first time?
Yes, I run a website where I wrote a measurement guide because there are a couple of measurements you need. First, you need to measure your dick size when it’s soft.
And the ring size is very important. And then there’s a gap between the ring and the tube. You don’t want it to be too tight, and you don’t want it to be too loose. Your balls gotta get through. With measurement, you need to take your time measuring. I would take multiple sizes and then average them out.
There are two styles that I like. The first type is Holy Trainer, and the second is KINK3D Designs. They’re both perfect cages at a similar price point.
You need to shave smooth, or the hair is going to pull, and it’ll be very uncomfortable.
You need to lubricate it with coconut oil. I don’t use lotion, don’t use anything synthetic because they dry really fast, and you need to maintain that level of moisture. Sort of like a car. A car cannot run without oil.
A dick shouldn’t run without oil, as well.
You don’t wanna start with metal because gravity is going to drag it down. Metal is heavy. Gravity is going to weigh it down, and it’s going to be very uncomfortable. I made the mistake of starting with metal, but I don’t recommend it.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about Locktober or chastity in general?
People who are curious about it should try it. It’s something new.
