Turns out, for a lot of guys the underwear aisle at their local department store is what started it all. Seeing pictures of guys on the packaging, their briefs so perfectly white, their bulges so perfectly smooth, was the exact moment so many people had their sexual awakening. “Couldn’t stop myself from walking through the underwear aisle and lingering,” one Cruiser told us. “Touching the packaging and holding it.” Other Cruisers had similar experiences. “ I would find myself sneaking off just to walk down those aisles,” another told us. The underwear section of the JCPenny catalog is another iconic underwear memory for a whole generation of underwear-lovers. “My fetish began with the JCPenney catalog,” a Cruiser said. “The men in classic Stafford tighty whities and Jockey bikini briefs aroused me.”
For other guys, the locker room was the beginning of their underwear fetish. One Cruiser said it all began “in the locker room in high school after a football game, when all the guys were taking off their sweaty used jocks.” For another Cruiser, the moment came during a soccer game. “I remember playing soccer and a friend of mine went to throw the ball in from out of bounds,” they told us. “As he lifted the ball over his head, his shirt rose up and I could see the waistband of his boxers and cum gutters. It stopped me in my tracks.”
Ten separate Cruisers told us they loved white briefs, but a lot of others said boxers and jocks were what got them going. Maybe that’s why so many of them said they’d traded or stolen someone else’s underwear. Some guys steal them surreptitiously in locker rooms when no one’s looking—they said they like smelling them, or seeing the precum stains. Other guys trade them with hook up buds. In fact, word on the street is that Sniffies was originally built to be a digital underwear swapping platform—but that’s just hearsay, of course. One Cruiser reported that he had more than 2,000 pairs of stolen underwear. “I rarely buy new,” he said.
When it comes to showing, Cruisers said, there’s no better place than the gym locker room. “I always show off in the locker room,” one Cruiser said. “I love walking around my very busy locker room parading my tighty whities,” another told us. For some guys, it’s about sneaking glances to try to see the barely visible outline of other gym-goers’ underwear—are they briefs, or is he wearing a jock? Other guys show off by leaving their curtains open while they walk around their house in just underwear, daring passers-by to take a glance, or else by sagging their pants to show off the underwear they’re wearing. For a lot of guys, showing off is just as hot as seeing another Cruiser in underwear.
