Cruising Confessions: Talk Dirty To Me

07.25.24

This week Gabe and Chris explore different types of communication that can help us have hotter and more dynamic sexual experiences. First, our hosts dive into the growing phenomenon of content creators making “verbal” audio files to get listeners off. Then, sex work guru Tomik Dash pops by to offer tips to better communication in intimate scenes. Finally, author and deep-voiced daddy Dale Corvino explains how the sex journals he’s kept for decades help him better communicate with himself and inspired his hot new book, “Bonds and Boundaries”.

A Note From the Director, Adam Baran

Often in sexual situations it can seem like speaking up about what you want, or don’t like is the worst thing you can do because you risk ruining the fantasy. My early experiences frustrated me to no end, and I became obsessed with cracking the communication barriers when trying to meet guys. Eventually I started being direct in a blunt way that sometimes turned guys off. Apps like Sniffies help bridge the gap for a lot of people. Now, you can just log on, send a guy a message and arrange your sexual experience pretty simply. But in person, we all still have the same problems with communication. Hence, the theme of this week’s episode, “TALK DIRTY TO ME”.

This week’s episode is all about communication, and how to “Use the Voice” to have better and hotter hookups. But the approach we take is a little different than usual. First, Gabe and Chris listen to verbal porn files by content creator Induced Priapism, who makes audio tracks to get listeners off during masturbation sessions. Then sex worker and activist Tomik Dash stops by to explain how he communicates with his clients during dom/sub scenes, and writer (and former sex worker) Dale Corvino talks about self-communication—in the form of his personal sex journals that inspired the stories in his new short story collection “Bonds and Boundaries".

Perhaps the most practical advice for communicating with partners is found in Tomik’s segment. But that’s not to discount Gabe and Chris’ interview with deep-voiced daddy writer Dale Corvino, who shares what I genuinely think is a practice every queer person should adopt: keeping a sex journal. Only through this practice can you really start to learn and understand your own behaviors, likes, dislikes, recurring pitfalls, and find ways to improve. The fact that it could inspire you to write gorgeous, compelling, and completely hot memoirs like Dale’s upcoming memoir “Kept Boy in the Afterlife” is only a bonus!

Special Treat: Here’s a salacious, journal entry of my own, about hooking up with Dale Corvino one Halloween night way back in the mid-00s, from my tenure as contributing editor at BUTT Magazine.
