Pack light, Cruiser we're heading to World Pride Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a city where bikes outnumber people, canals replace highways, and every neighborhood has its own personality. Whether you're here for World Pride, Leather & Fetish Weekend, the world-class museums, or simply to see where the night takes you, Amsterdam has something for every kind of traveler.
If you’re visiting for World Pride, you should know that Amsterdam is incredibly walkable, but renting a bike is still the best way to experience the city like a local. Just remember: bike lanes are sacred, and locals won't hesitate to let you know if you're standing in one. Keep your phone charged, wear comfortable shoes, and leave room in your suitcase for a few stories you'll probably never tell.

WHERE TO STAY
Skip the tourist traps around Dam Square and stay somewhere that actually feels like Amsterdam. De Pijp is perfect if you're looking for cafés, terraces, and nightlife within walking distance. The Jordaan offers picturesque canals and quieter mornings, while Oud-West puts you close to Vondelpark and plenty of queer-friendly cafés and bars.
WHERE TO WORK OUT
Amsterdam loves fitness almost as much as cycling. TrainMore has several locations across the city and offers convenient day passes for visitors.
If you're hoping to meet Amsterdam's famously fit gay crowd, TrainMore Singel is probably your best bet. Although the sauna has been removed, it's still one of the city's busiest gyms. TrainMore Oost attracts a younger crowd and has traditionally been known for its more social locker room and sauna culture.

If the weather cooperates, join the locals for a run through Vondelpark before rewarding yourself with a coffee on one of the surrounding terraces.
WHERE TO CRUSE
Start your evening at one of the city's iconic cruising bars: Cuckoo's Nest, The Eagle Amsterdam, Dirty Dicks, De Spijker, or Drakes. Most bars become lively after work, usually between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, before the crowd gradually moves on to clubs later in the evening. Check each venue's schedule, as opening hours and themed nights vary throughout the week.
For relaxing, hanging out, or cruising, NZ Sauna is another staple of Amsterdam's queer scene. A longtime favorite among locals and visitors alike, it offers steam rooms, saunas, a jacuzzi, private cabins, and regular themed nights, making it an ideal stop before or after a night out.
WHERE TO GO
If dancing is more your style, Club Church remains one of Europe's most iconic queer venues, offering internationally renowned themed nights that attract visitors from around the world. During World Pride Amsterdam and Leather & Fetish Weekend, the entire city transforms into one enormous celebration, with parties running well into the morning.
For those looking for Amsterdam's famous sex-positive nightlife, Rapido Events (CIRGUIT) takes over multiple venues across the city from July 31 through August 8. Their legendary Rapido and FunHouse parties are known for bringing together thousands of visitors with world-class DJs, impressive productions, and dedicated play spaces and dark rooms. Check the Rapido website for the latest schedule and venue locations before heading out.

Another highlight is TILLATEC, which hosts an impressive Pride weekender featuring WorldPride: The Planet x Los Angeles on August 1, followed by WorldPride: TILLATEC invites HERRENSAUNA, KNIT + VESELKA from August 1–3. If underground techno, fashion-forward crowds, and Berlin-inspired queer nightlife are your thing, these events should be high on your list. And definitely don't miss the weeklong Sniffies activation at Club Raum.
If you prefer the outdoors, Amsterdam has several legendary cruising areas. Vondelpark's Rosarium (Rose Garden) becomes more active around sunset during the warmer months. Nieuwe Meer, on the southwest edge of the city, is perhaps the Netherlands' most famous cruising beach. During the day it's popular for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing, while after dark it attracts a diverse crowd of locals and visitors alike.

Once you've had your fill of Amsterdam's nightlife, slow things down. Visit the Rijksmuseum, wander through the Nine Streets, explore the Jordaan's boutique shops, relax along the canals with a drink, or spend an afternoon discovering the city's independent galleries and vintage stores.
